Brand
Luckystar, Rice Light
Type / model
1. Lucky Star – lighting chain, class II protection, and 2. 100 Rice Light – lighting chain, class II protection
Description
The products are packed in plastic bags. The packaging is marked "Everlasting" and contains a reference to the origin, written in English (“Made in China”) and misleading information (“for indoor and outdoor use”, and the possibility of replacing the bulbs, even though the bulbs are disposable). The plugs contain the following markings: CE mark, XU, ~ 2,5 A, 250 V. The 100 Rice Light chain is equipped with a control unit to select between 8 different types of luminosity: “Combination”, “In waves”, “Sequential”, “Slo-Glo”, “Chasing/flash”, “Slow fade”, "Twinkle/ flash", “Steady on”.
Risk
The products pose a risk of electric shock because: - the wires of the power supply cords are too thin – 0.03 mm², instead of the required 0.5 mm²,- the distance between the plug and the first lampholders is 0.59 m and 0.85 m respectively, which is less than the minimum of 1.5 m, - the control unit of the 100 Rice Light chain is poorly assembled, which may cause to damage the wires while moving or plugging in the product. The products do not comply with the requirements set out in the relevant European standard EN 60598.
